31 March 2010: The chairman of Lloyd's Register is handing over the 20 Year Service Award to Ad van Schalkwijk during LR's 250th anniversary event in Shanghai. Following 17 years of field survey work for Lloyd's Register in The Netherlands and more than 3 years representing LR in China at various Chinese Shipyards it was time to move forward and extent the horizon. AVANSSYS BV was established. With a core business of statutory survey work on behalf of Red Ensign Flag States AVANSSYS BV is also specialized in any other technical aspect of mega-yacht new construction . The activity profile of AVANSSYS is to provide advisory and inspection services to various parties, generally referred to as 'surveys', in the marine industry with emphasises on carrying out surveys during new construction, conversion and periodical survey on board seagoing vessels and luxury yachts. (Hereafter referred to as ships). Parties within the marine industry may include shipyards, ship owners as well a Classification Society's or Flag State Administrations. Emphasises of above work profile will generally be focussing on class affecting and safety aspects. In principal the above work will be carried out in accordance with the intentions of the rules and regulations as laid down in the publications and documentation off IMO ( International Maritime Organisation) and the MCA LY3 Code.
